Nissan
The compact that spawned the GTI-R rally homologation rocket.
The Nissan Pulsar is a compact car sold across several generations, most famous among enthusiasts for the Pulsar GTI-R of the early 1990s. The GTI-R was a homologation special built for Group A rallying, packing the turbocharged SR20DET and ATTESA all-wheel drive into a tiny hatchback. With around 227 horsepower in a small, light body, the GTI-R was a pocket rocket and is now a sought-after JDM collectible. Other Pulsars were more conventional compacts, but the GTI-R defines the nameplate enthusiast appeal. On WhipJury, Pulsar submissions center on the GTI-R hot hatch.
