Porsche GT4: The Track-Focused Cayman
The GT4 is the hardcore, naturally aspirated flat-six version of the Cayman, engineered by Porsche's GT department for serious track performance.
The Cayman GT4 brought Porsche's GT-car expertise to the mid-engined Cayman, first arriving in 2015 and returning in the 718 generation. Unlike the standard turbocharged Cayman, the GT4 uses a high-revving naturally aspirated flat-six, drawn from the 911 family, paired with a manual gearbox (and later an available PDK dual-clutch).
Developed by the same team behind the 911 GT3, the GT4 features upgraded suspension, bigger brakes, and a fixed rear wing that produces genuine downforce. The mid-engine layout combined with serious aerodynamics and a sonorous six-cylinder makes it one of the most engaging and balanced track cars Porsche offers.
Widely praised by critics and enthusiasts as approaching or even matching the more expensive 911 GT3 in driving enjoyment, the GT4 has become a modern icon. A racing version, the Cayman GT4 Clubsport, competes in motorsport series worldwide.
