Chevrolet C/K: The Long-Running Truck Line
The C/K was Chevrolet's full-size pickup line for decades, with C denoting two-wheel drive and K four-wheel drive.
Spanning from 1960 to 2000, the C/K designation covered Chevrolet's full-size trucks, where C meant two-wheel drive and K meant four-wheel drive. The line included everything from half-ton haulers to heavy-duty work trucks across multiple generations.
The C/K trucks were workhorses of American industry and farm life, known for durability and a wide range of engines and configurations. The 1988 to 1998 GMT400 generation modernized the line significantly.
In 1999 the C/K name gave way to the Silverado for light-duty trucks, but the C/K era established Chevrolet as a dominant force in the pickup market.
