Chevrolet Blazer EV: An Electric Take on a Familiar Name
The Blazer EV is a midsize electric SUV built on GM's Ultium platform, offered in multiple drivetrains including a high-performance SS model.
Introduced for 2024, the Blazer EV reimagines the Blazer nameplate as a sleek, fully electric midsize SUV. It rides on General Motors' Ultium battery architecture, which underpins a growing family of GM electric vehicles, and is unrelated mechanically to the gas-powered Blazer despite sharing the name.
The range spans front-wheel-drive, rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations, letting buyers balance range, traction and price. At the top sits the Blazer EV SS, a performance flagship with dual motors, a Wide Open Watts mode and brisk acceleration that makes it one of the quicker mainstream electric SUVs.
Inside, a large central touchscreen anchors the cabin, and the Blazer EV supports DC fast charging plus adoption of the NACS standard for Tesla Supercharger access. It targets popular electric rivals while leaning on Chevrolet's mainstream pricing and dealer network.
