Chevrolet Blazer: From Rugged 4x4 to Modern Crossover
The Blazer name has spanned rugged body-on-frame SUVs and a modern midsize crossover, including an electric version.
The Blazer nameplate began with the full-size K5 Blazer in 1969, a tough, body-on-frame off-road SUV, followed by the popular S-10 Blazer compact. These early Blazers earned a reputation for rugged capability.
Chevrolet revived the Blazer name in 2019 for a stylish midsize crossover with bold, Camaro-inspired styling, prioritizing on-road comfort and design over off-road ability. More recently, the Blazer EV brought the name into the electric era.
Across its very different eras, the Blazer has remained one of Chevrolet's recognizable SUV names, evolving with changing buyer tastes.
