Jaguar
Le Mans-winning racer of the 1950s. Three consecutive Le Mans wins, monocoque construction, the legendary fin.
The Jaguar D-Type is one of the most significant racing cars of the 1950s. Built to win Le Mans, it did so three years running (1955, 1956, 1957), using advanced aircraft-inspired monocoque construction, aerodynamic bodywork, and the famous stabilizing fin behind the driver. Its XK inline-six and disc brakes gave it pace and stopping power rivals could not match. Surviving D-Types are among the most valuable cars in the world. On WhipJury, the D-Type is a revered motorsport icon.
