Buick GSX: The Big-Block Muscle Car
The GSX was Buick's high-performance muscle car of the early 1970s, a big-block bruiser with massive torque.
Introduced for 1970, the GSX was a performance package on the Buick GS (Gran Sport), turning the mid-size Buick into a genuine muscle car. It featured bold styling with spoilers and stripes, available in eye-catching colors like Saturn Yellow and Apollo White.
The GSX's headline engine was the Stage 1 455 big-block V8, famous for producing enormous torque, among the highest of any muscle car of the era. This gave the GSX devastating straight-line acceleration.
Built in small numbers, the GSX is a rare and prized muscle car, celebrated for combining Buick refinement with brutal big-block performance.
