Saab 9-3: The Compact Executive Saab
The 9-3 was Saab's compact executive car, a turbocharged sedan, convertible, and wagon that was a core model in the brand's later years.
Produced from 1998 to 2014, the 9-3 was Saab's compact executive car, succeeding the 900. It was offered as a hatchback, then a sedan, convertible, and SportCombi wagon, competing with the BMW 3 Series and Audi A4 with Saab's distinctive character.
The 9-3 retained Saab's love of turbocharged engines, offered available all-wheel drive (XWD), and emphasized safety and a driver-focused cockpit. The convertible was especially popular, and the Viggen and later Turbo X versions added performance.
The 9-3 was a cornerstone of Saab's lineup through the brand's final years, blending turbo performance, safety, and quirky Scandinavian character.
