Saab 9-7X: The Rebadged American SUV
The 9-7X was Saab's full-size SUV, a rebadged GM truck-based SUV with Saab styling, often called the Trollblazer.
Produced from 2005 to 2009, the 9-7X was Saab's midsize SUV, based on the GM body-on-frame platform shared with the Chevrolet TrailBlazer and GMC Envoy. It added Saab styling, a more upscale interior, and the brand's signature ignition between the seats.
Nicknamed the Trollblazer by enthusiasts, the 9-7X offered inline-six and V8 power, available all-wheel drive, and genuine capability, though it was a clear departure from Saab's car-based, front-drive tradition.
The 9-7X is a curiosity in Saab history, an American-built SUV wearing Saab badges, created to give the brand an SUV during the GM era.
