Peugeot traces its roots back to the 1800s, making it one of the oldest continuously operating automakers on the planet, long before the badge ever appeared on a car. Over the decades the Lion emblem became synonymous with French engineering that balanced everyday practicality with genuine driving enjoyment, a combination that is harder to find than it sounds.
The brand built its performance reputation on pint-sized hot hatches, none more celebrated than the 205 GTI, a car still held up as a benchmark for steering feel and chassis balance decades after it went out of production. That spirit carried forward through the 206 GTI, the RCZ coupe, and continues today in sportier trims of the 208 and 308.
