Toyota Celica GT-Four: Toyota's WRC-Winning Road Car
The Toyota Celica GT-Four was a turbocharged, all-wheel-drive version of the Celica built to homologate Toyota's World Rally Championship contender, and it helped deliver Toyota multiple WRC titles in the early-to-mid 1990s.
Produced across the ST165, ST185, and ST205 generations, the Celica GT-Four brought serious rally technology to a production coupe, wrapping turbocharged power and all-wheel drive inside a relatively civilized road car.
On the WRC stages, the Celica-based rally cars were dominant, winning championships and cementing Toyota as a serious rally manufacturer, with the road-going GT-Four sharing much of that engineering DNA.
Today the Celica GT-Four is regarded as one of the great Japanese performance cars of its era, valued by enthusiasts for its rally connection, its usable all-weather performance, and its relative rarity compared with more common Celica trims.
