Introduced in 1968, the Road Runner was a brilliant concept: a stripped-down, affordable muscle car that put big-block power above all else. Licensed from the Warner Bros. cartoon character, it even featured a horn that mimicked the famous beep-beep sound.
The Road Runner came standard with a potent 383 big-block, with the 440 and legendary 426 Hemi available, all in a lightweight, no-frills package. The aerodynamic Superbird version, with its towering wing and nose cone, became a NASCAR legend.
