Mercedes-Benz SLC: The Compact Roadster
The SLC was Mercedes-Benz's compact two-seat roadster, a renamed continuation of the popular SLK with a folding hardtop.
The SLC was essentially a renamed and facelifted version of the third-generation SLK, adopting the SLC name in 2016 to align with Mercedes' naming structure. A compact two-seat roadster, it featured a retractable folding hardtop that turned it from a snug coupe into an open roadster at the push of a button.
The SLC offered turbocharged four- and six-cylinder engines, including the potent AMG SLC 43, plus the innovative Magic Sky Control roof that could electronically tint the glass panel. It blended open-air fun with everyday usability.
The SLC was discontinued in 2020, ending the compact Mercedes roadster line that the SLK had pioneered, but it remains a stylish, characterful open-top choice.
