The Koenigsegg Regera is a hybrid hypercar produced from 2015 to 2022. The Regera is Koenigsegg first hybrid model and uses the company unique Direct Drive transmission system. The 5.0L twin-turbo V8 plus three electric motors produces combined 1,500 horsepower. Production was limited to 80 cars total globally. The Regera replaces traditional gearbox with single-speed Direct Drive system. Electric motors provide low-speed acceleration; the V8 takes over at higher speeds. The system reduces weight, eliminates shifts, and integrates the hybrid powertrain. Pricing was around $2 million new. On WhipJury, Regera submissions are essentially impossible due to limited production.

What is Direct Drive?
Koenigsegg Direct Drive replaces conventional transmission with a single fixed gear ratio between the engine and wheels. Electric motors provide low-speed acceleration and torque infill. How much does a Regera cost?

Is the Regera faster than Jesko?
Different priorities. Regera is hybrid grand tourer optimized for refined power delivery. Jesko is V8 hypercar designed for top speed and lap times. Regera has 1,500 horsepower combined; Jesko Absolut has 1,280 horsepower naturally aspirated. Performance is comparable in different ways.
Are Regeras reliable?
Generally yes for hand-built hypercars. The V8 and hybrid system have been reliable in early production. Common issues are typical for low-volume hypercars: occasional electronic concerns. Maintenance is extremely expensive.
What replaced the Regera?
Koenigsegg has not announced a direct successor. The Gemera (2020+) has different concept (four-seat hypercar). The Jesko continues as the V8 hypercar. Future Koenigsegg products may continue Direct Drive technology development.
