Koenigsegg CC8S: The Hypercar That Started a Legend
The CC8S was Koenigsegg's first production car, the machine that launched the Swedish hypercar maker into the global elite.
Produced in the early 2000s, the CC8S was the first series-production Koenigsegg, the realization of founder Christian von Koenigsegg's dream of building a world-class supercar from Sweden. It featured a supercharged V8, a carbon fiber body, and the brand's signature dihedral synchro-helix door system.
With around 655 horsepower in a remarkably light package, the CC8S delivered supercar-humbling performance and even briefly held a Guinness World Record for the most powerful production engine of its time. Its removable hardtop could be stowed under the front hood.
Only a handful were built, making the CC8S extraordinarily rare. It established the design language, engineering philosophy, and ambition that every subsequent Koenigsegg would build upon.
