Koenigsegg CCR: The Record-Breaking Evolution
The CCR was a more powerful evolution of Koenigsegg's first hypercar that briefly claimed the title of world's fastest production car.
Building on the CC8S, the CCR arrived in the mid-2000s with more power and sharper aerodynamics. Its twin-supercharged V8 produced around 806 horsepower, propelling the lightweight carbon car to extraordinary speeds.
In 2005 a CCR set a top-speed record at Italy's Nardo test track, briefly making it the fastest production car in the world before the Bugatti Veyron reclaimed the crown. That achievement put Koenigsegg firmly on the map as a serious rival to the established hypercar names.
Like its predecessor, the CCR was built in tiny numbers and retained the brand's hallmark dihedral doors and removable roof. It marked an important step in Koenigsegg's rapid rise and its relentless pursuit of speed.
