The Tesla Model 3 launched in 2017 and became Tesla volume seller. The Model 3 made Tesla profitable for the first time and demonstrated that the company could scale beyond niche luxury into mass-market. Standard Range, Long Range, and Performance variants cover different price points and use cases. The Performance variant uses a dual-motor AWD configuration and runs 0-60 in around 3.1 seconds (with revisions making it faster in current model years). Track Mode (introduced 2018) provides specialized track-focused tuning for Performance variants. The Model 3 has been continuously refined. The Highland refresh (2024+) updates the styling, interior, and powertrain. Production volume is significant globally; the Model 3 is one of the best-selling EVs in history. On WhipJury, Model 3 submissions are highly active. Performance and Long Range variants are common. Modified Model 3 examples (with suspension upgrades, wheels, lighting modifications) appear regularly.
