Cupra Formentor: The Brand's First Bespoke Model
The Formentor is a sporty crossover coupe and the first Cupra ever designed exclusively for the standalone brand rather than shared with SEAT.
When Cupra split from SEAT to become its own marque, it needed a model to prove the split was more than a badge change. The Formentor was that proof: a sporty crossover coupe styled from the ground up under the new Cupra identity, with no SEAT-badged equivalent. It quickly became the brand's best-selling and most recognizable model.
Buyers can choose between strong turbocharged petrol engines and a plug-in hybrid powertrain, giving the Formentor a range from efficient daily driving to genuinely quick performance variants. The plug-in hybrid version adds usable electric-only range for commuting while still delivering strong combined output when both power sources work together.
As Cupra's design and sales flagship, the Formentor set the visual template the rest of the lineup has followed: copper accents, sharp angular lighting, and a stance more aggressive than anything in the SEAT range it grew out of.
