Its name comes from Tavascan, a small village in the Spanish Pyrenees, continuing Cupra's tradition of drawing model names from places tied to Spanish motorsport and geography.

In its top VZ trim, the Tavascan uses a dual-motor setup for strong acceleration and all-wheel-drive traction, giving it genuine performance credentials rather than just sporty styling. Lower trims focus more on efficiency and range while still carrying the same aggressive coupe SUV silhouette.

The Tavascan represents Cupra pushing further into electric performance SUVs, competing against a growing field of coupe-styled electric crossovers while keeping the brand's signature copper accents and angular design language front and center.
