BMW
The flagship luxury sedan. V8, V12, and now electric i7 power. BMW technology showcase.
The BMW 7 Series is the brand full-size flagship luxury sedan, the showcase for its latest technology and a rival to the Mercedes S-Class and Audi A8. Since 1977 it has offered inline sixes, V8s, and V12s, with each generation introducing innovations that trickle down across the range. The E38 (1994-2001) is a design icon, also famous from the film Ronin and as a Bond car. Modern 7 Series cars offer mild-hybrid sixes, twin-turbo V8s, the rare V12 (now discontinued), and the fully electric i7. Long-wheelbase versions add rear-seat luxury. On WhipJury, 7 Series submissions favor the E38, modern 750i V8 cars, and the new i7.
