Doug DeMuro is selling a 2005 Ford GT. The YouTuber and founder of Cars & Bids listed it on that site with no reserve, so it goes to the highest bidder. As of this writing on Thursday, October 8, the high bid stood at $500,000 after 22 bids.

DeMuro isn't leaving Ford GT ownership. "I'm only selling it so I can buy a 2006 Ford GT Heritage," DeMuro wrote in a comment pinned to the listing. "I love the Ford GT, and I hope to always own one." Motor1 reports that DeMuro never loved the car's blue-and-white paint.

Motor1 describes the Heritage Edition's paint as baby blue and orange. DeMuro's current car is Midnight Blue Metallic with white stripes.

The blue car has a well-known history. Journalist Karl Brauer bought it new at Santa Monica Ford in August 2005, and DeMuro bought it from Brauer in September 2018. It now shows 45,800 miles, about 14,400 of them added by DeMuro. The paperwork is unusually thorough. It includes the window stickers, the factory build book, Ford press releases, and Brauer's logbook of every fuel stop from 2005 to 2018.

The window sticker lists just three options: forged BBS wheels, painted brake calipers, and painted racing stripes. Autoevolution notes that the sticker shows the first owner paid $152,945. Power comes from a supercharged 5.4-liter V8 rated at 550 hp and 500 lb-ft when stock, through a six-speed manual. DeMuro's car isn't stock. It has an SCT engine tune, a smaller supercharger pulley, a Ford Racing exhaust and short shifter, an Alpine head unit, and the signature of Ford GT designer Camilo Pardo in the engine bay.

Cars & Bids lists the flaws, too: marks on the paint protection film, chips on the front end and rear diffuser, clearcoat failure on one wheel, and wear on the seats and shift knob. Ford built around 4,000 of these GTs before dropping the name until the second-generation car arrived for 2017.

The auction ends at 3:24 p.m. Eastern on October 17, live at the Willow Springs Reimagined event. Motor1 reports the car is one of 16 in a Cars & Bids collection there, and Acura will also sell its one-of-one Iron Man NSX from The Avengers.
