Rivian
Rivian's electric SUV. Same R1T platform with three rows of seats. Quad-motor or tri-motor performance, off-road capability matched to the R1T.
The Rivian R1S is the SUV version of the R1T platform, launched alongside the R1T in late 2021. The R1S provides three rows of seats, similar quad-motor performance, and off-road capability matched to the R1T pickup. The R1S has been particularly successful with buyers who want EV power and refinement without the visual statement of a Cybertruck. The R1S shares all major mechanical components with the R1T. The body is purpose-built for SUV utility (taller, with cargo capacity and passenger space) but the chassis, motors, and battery are essentially identical. The R1S Tri-Motor and R1S Quad-Motor are the highest-performance variants. On WhipJury, R1S submissions are increasingly common. Modified R1S examples with overland modifications appear regularly. The community recognizes the R1S as a credible electric SUV alternative.
