Opel Grandland: Opel's Biggest SUV
The Opel Grandland is a compact to midsize SUV and Opel's largest mainstream crossover, sold as the Vauxhall Grandland in the UK.
Introduced in 2017 as the Grandland X, the model gave Opel a larger SUV positioned above the Mokka to capture buyers moving away from traditional sedans and estates, filling a role the Insignia would later vacate entirely. It shares its platform with sibling Stellantis models including the Peugeot 3008.
Sold in the UK as the Vauxhall Grandland, the model dropped the X from its name in a 2021 update that also brought the Opel Vizor front-end styling in line with the Mokka and Astra, unifying the brand's design language across its lineup.
The Grandland is offered with plug-in hybrid powertrains alongside conventional petrol engines, and it has become Opel's flagship SUV and one of its top-selling models as the brand leans further into crossovers over traditional sedans.
