Opel Mokka: Bold Design in a Small SUV
The Opel Mokka is a subcompact crossover SUV known for its bold modern design, offered in a fully electric Mokka Electric version.
The Mokka launched in 2012 as Opel's entry into the fast-growing subcompact crossover segment, giving the brand a small SUV to compete with rivals like the Renault Captur and Nissan Juke. The first generation was a relatively conventional design shared with GM's Buick Encore, sold widely as the Vauxhall Mokka in the UK.
The second generation, launched in 2020 under new Stellantis ownership, marked a dramatic styling shift, introducing the Opel Vizor front-end design language with a sleek illuminated brand badge that would go on to define the look of subsequent Opel models including the Astra and Grandland.
That second-generation Mokka is offered as the fully electric Mokka Electric, formerly branded Mokka-e, alongside petrol and hybrid variants, positioning it as one of Opel's clearest showcases of both its new design direction and its electrification push.
