Li Auto L7: Five-Seat Midsize EREV SUV
The Li Auto L7 is a five-seat midsize-large EREV SUV that trades the six-seat layout of its siblings for a more driver-focused character and a sportier interior feel.
The L7 shares Li Auto's core EREV architecture with the L8 and L9 but is designed around a five-seat, two-row layout, giving it a more conventional SUV footprint and interior that is roomier per passenger than a three-row alternative of the same length. The gasoline range-extender engine keeps the battery topped up and the CLTC electric-only range is approximately 215 kilometers, with total EREV range exceeding 1,300 kilometers on a full tank and charge. Twin electric motors deliver all-wheel drive and a combined output near 330 kW.
Inside, removing the third row allows the second-row seats to recline further and the boot space to expand significantly. The L7's cabin aesthetic leans slightly sportier than the family-van feel of the L8 and L9, with a lower roofline, a more wraparound dashboard design, and seat materials tuned toward a driver-and-passenger experience rather than passenger-lounge luxury. The same multi-screen smart-cockpit software, head-up display, and advanced driver-assistance hardware found in the larger models carry over.
The L7 fills an important niche for buyers who want EREV technology and a premium large SUV experience but do not need three rows or captain's-chair rear seating. It has been well-received among younger buyers and couples or small families for whom the five-seat layout is sufficient, and it consistently sells in large volumes alongside the L8 and L9 as part of Li Auto's complementary three-model EREV strategy.
