Jeep Wrangler TJ: The Return of Round Headlights
The TJ was the second-generation Wrangler that brought back round headlights and added coil-spring suspension for better capability and ride.
Produced from 1997 to 2006, the TJ generation was a beloved Wrangler that restored the round headlights enthusiasts wanted after the square-lamp YJ. More importantly, it introduced coil-spring suspension front and rear, dramatically improving both off-road articulation and on-road ride.
The TJ retained the classic Wrangler character with removable top and doors and a folding windshield, while the introduction of the long-wheelbase Unlimited late in its run added practicality. The Rubicon trim brought factory lockers and serious trail hardware.
The TJ is widely regarded as a sweet spot in Wrangler history, blending classic looks with modern capability, and remains highly sought after.
