Ford Mustang Shelby GT350: The Track-Focused Flat-Plane Legend
The Shelby GT350 was a track-honed Mustang with a screaming flat-plane-crank V8, one of the greatest driver's Mustangs ever built.
Reviving a legendary 1960s name, the modern Shelby GT350 arrived in 2015 as a hardcore, track-focused Mustang. Its heart was a 5.2-liter flat-plane-crank V8, the Voodoo engine, which revved to over 8,000 rpm and produced around 526 horsepower with an exotic, high-pitched soundtrack unlike any other Mustang.
Beyond the engine, the GT350 featured upgraded aerodynamics, suspension, brakes, and the track-ready GT350R variant with carbon fiber wheels. It was engineered for serious handling, not just straight-line speed.
Widely praised as one of the finest driver's Mustangs ever made, the GT350 became an instant modern classic.
