Datsun 280Z: The Fuel-Injected Z Car

The 280Z brought fuel injection and a larger engine to the iconic Z car, restoring performance and refining the legend.

Produced from 1975 to 1978, the 280Z further evolved the Z car with a larger 2.8-liter inline-six and, importantly, fuel injection, which restored performance lost to emissions regulations and improved drivability.

The 280Z retained the classic long-hood Z styling and rear-wheel-drive sports-car character while adding more power, torque, and reliability. It was offered in two-seat and 2+2 forms and remained a strong seller in the US.

The 280Z is the final and most refined of the original first-generation S30 Z cars, prized for combining classic styling with improved, fuel-injected performance.
