Bugatti EB110: The 1990s Hypercar That Revived Bugatti
The EB110 was a technologically advanced 1990s hypercar that briefly revived the Bugatti name with a quad-turbo V12 and all-wheel drive.
Launched in 1991 under Italian entrepreneur Romano Artioli, the EB110 revived the dormant Bugatti marque. It was remarkably advanced for its time, with a carbon fiber chassis, a 3.5-liter quad-turbocharged V12, and all-wheel drive, making it one of the fastest cars in the world.
The car came in two main forms: the GT and the lighter, more powerful Super Sport. With around 550 to 600 horsepower, it could exceed 210 mph, rivaling the McLaren F1 and Jaguar XJ220 of the era.
Although the company went bankrupt in 1995, the EB110 proved Bugatti could build a cutting-edge hypercar and laid the conceptual groundwork for the Volkswagen-era Veyron that followed.
