Aston Martin DB7: The Car That Saved Aston Martin
The DB7 was a gorgeous 1990s grand tourer that revitalized Aston Martin, becoming the brand's best-selling model up to that point.
Launched in 1994 under Ford ownership, the DB7 brought Aston Martin back from the brink. Designed by Ian Callum, its flowing, timeless shape is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful cars of its era. Early cars used a supercharged inline-six, while the later DB7 Vantage gained a glorious 5.9-liter V12.
The DB7 sold in far greater numbers than any previous Aston, more than 7,000 units, providing crucial revenue and proving there was strong demand for a more attainable Aston grand tourer.
By blending classic Aston style with modern usability, the DB7 set the template for the brand's revival and paved the way for the DB9 and the cars that followed.
