Saturn L-Series: The Midsize Family Car
The L-Series was Saturn's first midsize car, a practical sedan and wagon that expanded the brand beyond compacts.
Produced from 2000 to 2005, the L-Series was Saturn's entry into the midsize segment, based on the European Opel Vectra platform. It gave Saturn buyers a larger family car option in sedan and wagon (LW) forms.
The L-Series offered four-cylinder and V6 engines and continued some of Saturn's signature features. While competent, it faced strong competition in the crowded midsize class and never matched the brand's compact-car success.
The L-Series was an important step in broadening Saturn's lineup, offering practical midsize family transportation before being succeeded by the acclaimed Aura.
