Fiat Uno: The Influential 1980s Supermini
The Uno was a hugely successful and influential supermini that helped define the modern small car in the 1980s.
Launched in 1983, the Uno was a landmark Fiat that won European Car of the Year and became one of the best-selling cars in the world. Designed by Giugiaro, its tall, space-efficient, aerodynamic shape set a template for the modern supermini.
The Uno offered practical, efficient, and affordable motoring, including the sporty Uno Turbo i.e. that became a hot-hatch favorite. It sold in enormous numbers across Europe, Latin America, and beyond, with production continuing for decades in some markets.
The Uno was enormously influential, a clever and successful small car that shaped Fiat's fortunes and the supermini class for years to come.
