Chrysler Crossfire: The Mercedes-Based Sports Coupe
The Crossfire was a distinctive sports coupe and roadster built on Mercedes-Benz underpinnings during the DaimlerChrysler era.
Produced from 2004 to 2008, the Crossfire was a two-seat sports car born from the DaimlerChrysler partnership, sharing much of its mechanicals with the previous-generation Mercedes-Benz SLK. Its bold, distinctive styling featured a tapered boattail rear and prominent body lines.
The Crossfire offered a Mercedes-sourced V6, including a supercharged SRT-6 version with around 330 horsepower, in both coupe and roadster forms. It combined German engineering with bold American-influenced design.
The Crossfire was a short-lived but memorable product of the DaimlerChrysler era, appreciated for its unique looks and Mercedes-derived mechanicals.
